The SCIPROOF Scientific Dictionary Package (SDP-MACX) for Microsoft Office augments the native Microsoft Office spellchecker with over 250,000 medical, scientific, and chemical terms from the United States National Library of Medicine (NLM) and the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). It is currently compatible with Microsoft Office X (Word X) and Office 2004 (Word 2004) and runs on Macintosh OS X operating systems.
This program automatically installs a database of over 250,000 medical, scientific, and chemical terms into the native Microsoft Office spellchecker. The SDP database is accessed automatically while using the native Microsoft spellchecker in Word, Excel, Power Point and Entourage. For a demonstration of SDP, please start Word, open the Test Document (this button is located on the Word toolbar), and activate the Microsoft Word spellchecker.
The following are required for successful installation of SDP:
- One of the following Macintosh OS X installed:
- Mac OS X v.10.2 (Jaguar) / Darwin 6.0
- Mac OS X v.10.3 (Panther) / Darwin 7.0
- Mac OS X v.10.4 (Tiger) / Darwin 8.0
- Microsoft Office X (Word 2001) or Office 2004 (Word 2004) for Macintosh.
- 15 MB of local hard disc space.
IMPORTANT: SDP Version 2.0 for Macintosh is coming soon and will be compatible with Office X (Word 2001) and 2004 (Word 2004) running on Macintosh OS X: 10.2 (Jaguar) / Darwin 6.0, 10.3 (Panther) / Darwin 7.0, and 10.4 (Tiger) / Darwin 8.0.
