Goal
The goal of the current step (SMAC 2005.11.08) is to test the installation/uninstallation and primary features/functions of sciPROOF Beta v.1.0.15 for Macintosh.
Tools
To complete this step, you will need the following components:
- Macintosh OS X installed.
- Microsoft Office X (2001) or Microsoft Office 2004 for Macintosh installed.
- sciPROOF Beta v.1.0.15 for Macintosh. Please click here to download it.
- sciPROOF Activation key. Pease click here to access this page.
Test items
To complete this step, you will need to complete the following tasks:
- Download sciPROOF Beta v.1.0.15 for Macintosh and save it locally.
- Check installation: Start installer and proceed with activation to complete the installation. Successful Installation will include the following:
- "PostInstallDocument" will open automatically.
- The sciPROOF toolbar with "About sciPROOF" and "Test Document" buttons will be installed.
- The sciPROOF Dictionary should be shown in the list of custom spelling dictionaries (Word > Preferences > Spelling and Grammar > Dictionaries).
- The "SciProofUninstall" application icon will be placed on your desktop.
- Check main functionality:
- Click the "About sciPROOF" button to activate a dialog that contains a description of sciPROOF®.
- Click the "Test Document" button to open the sciPROOF Test Document and check spellchecking functionality. Activate spellchecking and follow the instructions in the Test Document.
- Check uninstallation: Start the "SciProofUninstall" and proceed with uninstallation. After successful uninstallation, please open Word to check that the sciPROOF toolbars and custom spelling dictionaries are removed.
Results

- Your name and e-mail address.
- Your beta-testing report.
If any of test items failed, please let us know and provide the logs (located in Applications > SciProof).
